I liked that the 2135 was lighter, a bit smaller than the 2235, and being quiet was a bonus but had enough power 80% of the time. ![]() It was my main work horse and I bought a non-quiet 2235timax just for stubborn nuts/bolts/lugs. I've got an old sorta broken IR 2135qtimax, definitely not as strong as the non-quiet 2135timax (wish I had gotten the non-quiet), probably the same is true of the 2235. That IR is great, but too loud for my liking (why I wanted the QTi). I do like the super ergonomic handle though. My Aircat has an in-out hammering action (strictly when it's hitting a bolt but NOT turning) that might actually shake flange bolts, but beats my hands to death with vibration when it's working something stuck. Years ago I picked up an IR 2135TiMax and an Aircat 1000-TH at a pawn shop for $40 each. The 2235QTiMAX doesn't have so much more power that it will matter in most cases, but it's quite a bit lighter and so much quieter that I'm really glad to have it over my other options. ![]() My previous impact wrench was a Snap On IM5100 (IIRC) that's quite comparable to the 231 in weight, power and noise. If you ONLY care about longevity and beefiness, the 231 will do you fine. It's just outside of your budget right now, but the prices do fluctuate if you're willing to wait a bit. I paid $184.80 for my 2235QTiMAX on Amazon back in 2019 as a "warehouse deal".
